From an early age, Rafael learned to work with carpentry tools and to love the craft. This love was born from his time with his grandfather, a carpenter who came from Italy and taught him the art of working with wood.
He later graduated in product design from FAAP, and then attended the University of Plymouth in England, where he worked in different fields of design. He was part of the design team at Philips and the Campana Brothers' studio and institute.
At the Campana Institute, he was able to develop his creativity not only by designing furniture, but also by teaching crafts to children and teenagers living in the Moinho community, located in downtown São Paulo.
In 2019, he started LABMOBILI with his managing partner Marcelo Germano, where he was able to bring his own creations to life.
